A Story Told in Clay: The Heritage Bowls of Lo Scoglio x Di Lunedi

By Angelica Arnott | November 2025

What began as a personal journey to reconnect with family legacy has become a collaboration steeped in artistry, memory, and emotion. The Heritage Bowls are the result of this journey—a limited-edition collection of 20 handcrafted ceramics that carry the spirit of Italy in every curve, glaze, and detail.

Crafted in Italy by ceramic artist Elise Eales of Di Lunedi, and photographed through the evocative lens of Anna Pihan, the Heritage Bowls are both functional and symbolic. Designed to live with you—on your table, on your wall, or in your story—they are vessels of connection, memory, and beauty.

Honouring the Past Through Craft

The Heritage Bowls are woven into the fabric of Lo Scoglio’s story. They were born from a desire to honour Angelica’s late father and her Sicilian roots—a search for belonging that led her to the volcanic island of Stromboli. It was there, surrounded by sea and memory, that the idea for the collection began to take form.

In collaboration with Elise, whose deep connection to Italy is echoed in her tactile, soulful ceramics, each bowl was shaped by hand using traditional maiolica techniques and finished with a rare ramina green glaze—a pigment found only in specific regions of Italy.

"These aren’t just tableware—they’re vessels of memory, crafted to connect you to where you come from."

A Collaborative Viaggio Across the Sea.

Though formed in clay, the bowls carry the emotional weight of time and travel. Elise conceived many of the early designs while staying in Ischia, overlooking Castello Aragonese, where the sounds of la passeggiata floated through the window. These everyday rituals became embedded in her process, and you can feel that quiet beauty in every piece.

Photographer Anna Pihan captured the spirit of the bowls with the same reverence they were made. Shot in analogue film and Super 8 motion, her images bring the project to life with texture, depth, and a timeless quality that honours the story behind the collaboration.

"Each bowl reflects a moment, a memory, or a place where life feels most present."

Timeless. Artful. Elegant.

As life should be.

Designed to Belong

Whether used for a family meal or displayed as a piece of art, the Heritage Bowls are meant to be lived with. They are as tactile as they are timeless.

We imagine them becoming the most cherished pieces at the table—the bowls your family instinctively reaches for, not just for their beauty, but for the stories they carry. Passed from one generation to the next, each bowl is a quiet heirloom in the making.
